Tips For Staying Motivated During Home Workouts
Staying motivated to work out is one of the biggest challenges people face! It’s easy to get excited to use your brand new home gym, but how do you keep healthy habits months or years down the road?
Here at Reymma Fitness, we want to help you create your perfect home gym so that you look forward to working out. In today’s blog post, we’re sharing a few tips for making working out a habit and how you can stay motivated to continue working out, long after the home gym equipment has been set up!

Get The Help Of Friends
Most people work out in their home gyms alone, and many have chosen to invest in a home gym so that they don’t have to exercise with others! However, sharing your training plan with a workout buddy is one of the best ways to motivate you to train longer and harder. It’s especially true if you find a buddy that has similar workout goals to you. Check-in with one another, ask how things are going, and hold each other accountable.
Write Down Your Goals
One of the main ways to stay motivated with exercise is to write down your fitness goals. Try to be as specific as possible. Instead of ‘workout more often,” choose a number of times per week and the amount of time you’ll work out. Pick a goal, whether that’s to train for a race or improve your health. Put your goals where you’ll see them every day and use them to motivate yourself to work to meet them.
Track Your Progress
Keep a journal of your progress to help you see the steps you’re making towards meeting your goal. In a home gym, it can be hard to push yourself because you’re only competing against yourself. But when you track your progress, you’re competing against your past self, which lets you see how far you’ve come. Can you do one more rep than yesterday? Can you run an extra mile this week?
Tie Training To Something You Want To Do
Bundling training with something else can help motivate you to work out. For example, if you love a particular TV show, only allow yourself to watch it while you exercise. Or if you love listening to music, make a special playlist with your favorite songs that you only listen to while you work out. Soon enough, working out will be bundled with these other activities, and you’ll begin to get in a workout groove!
Don’t Make Exercise About Physical Appearance
Try not to make your primary motivation for working out based on your physical appearance. Instead of focusing on big goals, like six-pack abs, try setting smaller goals based on something other than physical appearance. Maybe you complete your first pull-up. Or run a mile without stopping. Or lose 5% of your body fat. All of these accomplishments are amazing, and you deserve to celebrate them!
When you exercise, try to focus on how it makes you feel too, and use that high of accomplishing something difficult or meeting your goals to motivate you to keep going back to your full home gym.
